The problem
Fixture scheduling and results reporting for a national league were coordinated by phone and spreadsheet, leaving no single source of truth for standings or player eligibility.
What was built
A fixtures and standings system: club and player registration, a scheduling tool for match officials, live-ish score entry from the venue, and automatically updated league tables.
Notable engineering
- Fixture scheduler with conflict detection across venues, referees, and team availability
- Standings computed from match results on write, never hand-edited
- Shared player-eligibility service reused from the athletics federation system rather than rebuilt
